Toby on Barrel toby jug produced in chalkware by Marshall Taplow of London, England, circa 1930. The Toby on Barrel toby jug features an Ordinary Toby drunkard wearing clothes typical of the late 1700s and sitting atop a barrel holding a mug of ale in his left hand. This is an advertising jug for Marshall Taplow Whitehall Distillery and was designed to hold a miniature bottle of liquor.
