Toby on Barrel toby jug - Malicorne circa 1930

Toby on Barrel majolica toby jug produced by Malicorne circa 1930. Designed and signed by Emile Tessier, the Toby on Barrel toby jug features a drunkard sitting atop a barrel holding his full belly with both hands. The number 0.20.100.0 on the front of the barrel convey a humorous message. When spoken in French the numbers create a saying which roughly translated means "zero wine without water." This toby jug can also be found as an advertising piece for Jacques Drouher La Suze Sarthe.
