The Warlock face pot black - Kevin Francis circa 2004

The Warlock face pot wearing a black robe produced by Kevin Francis Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, circa 2004. A warlock is a male practitioner of witchcraft. The word warlock derives from the Old English waeloga, which meant "breaker of oaths" or "deceiver", and was given special application to the devil around 1000. In early modern Scots, the word came to be used as the male equivalent of witch. The Warlock's face pot quote, "Be very afraid!", is a dire warning to any who anger the warlock.
