The Great American Game character jug - Vandor 1991

The Great American Game character jug produced in Taiwan by Vandor of Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1991. Often referred to as the Great American Game, or America's National Pastime, baseball has had a very active role in the shaping of this nation. It is generally accepted that baseball was invented by Abner Doubleday in Cooperstown, New York, in 1839. It is suggested that Doubleday invented the word "baseball", designed the diamond, indicated fielder positions, and wrote down the rules and the field regulations. From the Civil War to Civil Rights and all points in between and beyond, the game of baseball supports and reflects many aspects of American life, from culture to economics and technological advances. It inspires movements, instills pride and even heals cities. A baseball bat forms the handle of this jug.
