The Flower Seller toby jug - Siltone Pottery circa 1990

The Flower Seller toby jug produced by Siltone Pottery of Staffordshire, England, circa 1990. A flower seller, normally a woman, traditionally sells flowers on the street. Often the flowers are carried in a basket, for example. Quite common in Victorian London, the profession has slowly died out. The subject matter has been a favorite of artists. This toby jug was designed in a style similar to Shorter & Son's Flower Seller toby jug.
