The English bank - Austria circa 1930

The English majolica bank produced in Austria circa 1930. This is an Austrian production of The English character jug. The English is a design produced by Sarregumines of France in the early 1900s. Called The English because the Sarreguemines' model had the inscription "V'la les English" on the back, translated as "Here Comes the English." This is a bank derived from a character jug having its top filled in but for a slot to deposit money.
