Teacher character jug - Audley Porcelain circa 1980

Teacher character jug modeled by Diana Capener and produced by Audley Porcelain of Stoke-on-Trent, England, circa 1980. This refined teacher, or schoolmaster, is a male school teacher. This usage survives in British private schools, both secondary and preparatory, and a few Indian boarding schools that were modelled after British public schools, but is generally obsolete elsewhere. The tassel from the teacher's mortarboard hat forms the handle of the jug.
