Jackson character jug - Lefton China circa 1970

Jackson character jug produced by Lefton China of Chicago, Illinois, circa 1970. Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson (1824-1863) was a general officer in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. He played a prominent role in nearly all military engagements in the Eastern theater of the war until his death. Military historians regard him as one of the most gifted tactical commanders in U.S. history. After Jackson's death, his military exploits developed a legendary quality, becoming an important element of the pseudohistorical ideology of the "Lost Cause". A sword in its scabbard forms the handle of the jug. The small size Stonewall Jackson character jug is model number KW1112 and stands 4 1/4" tall.
