Standing Toby pepper shaker produced in a Blue Willow design by William Kent of Burslem, England, circa 1890. This Standing Toby is a drunken sot wearing the traditional everyday garb of the late 1700s including the long frock coat, buttoned vest, and tricorn hat. He is holding a full mug of ale in his right hand. There is beautiful Blue Willow decoration around the top of Toby's hat and the base he is standing on. This piece bear's William Kent's Old Staffordshire Ware England backstamp on the bottom.
