This Standing Toby is wearing the traditional everyday garb of the late 1700s including the long frock coat, buttoned vest, and tricorn hat. He has folded his hands in front of him, resting them on his ample belly. He bears the crest of Southbourne on his belly and an inscription on his back. Crested ware are small, porcelain objects in a variety of shapes and forms that bear a heraldic crest to represent the area in which they were sold as souvenirs.
