Sherlock Holmes bookend - Royal Doulton circa 2000

Sherlock Holmes bookend designed by Martyn C. R. Alcock and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, circa 2000. From Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's imagination comes this most accomplished detective, Sherlock Holmes. The world's first consulting detective, Holmes, along with his eager narrator Dr. Watson, was uncanny in his ability to ferret out clues and deduce the perpetrator of some dastardly deed. Having solved thousands of cases and never far from his pipe and magnifying glass, Holmes is constantly stopping to investigate some vital clue in the case he is presently pursuing. This is a pair with the Dr. Watson bookend.
