Scotsman character jug produced by Mason's of Hanley, England, circa 1985. A Scotsman, or Scottie or Scot, is a man who is a native or inhabitant of Scotland. With a set of bagpipes slung over his shoulder, he is dressed in traditional clothing of the 19th century. A shillelagh forms the handle of the jug.
