School Master toby jug produced by Wedgwood & Company of Tunstall, England, circa 1950 using its Unicorn tradename. The word school master, or simply master, refers to a male schoolteacher. This usage survives in British private schools, both secondary and preparatory, and a few Indian boarding schools that were modelled after British public schools but is generally obsolete elsewhere. The smaller School Master toby jug is model number 765/3 and stands 4 1/2" tall.
