Sandy character jug produced by Coventry Pottery of Barberton, Ohio, circa 1945. Sandy is a Scotsman, or Scottie or Scot, a man who is a native or inhabitant of Scotland. He is dressed in traditional clothing of the 19th century. This is a similar design to the Scotsman majolica character jug produced around 1920 in Austria.
