Salvador Dali face pot - Kevin Francis circa 2001

Salvador Dali face pot produced by Kevin Francis Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, circa 2001. Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dali i Dominech (1904-1989), known as Salvador Dali, was a Spanish surrealist artist renowned for his technical skill, precise draftsmanship, and the striking and bizarre images in his work. Dali's artistic repertoire included painting, graphic arts, film, sculpture, design and photography, at times in collaboration with other artists. He also wrote fiction, poetry, autobiography, essays and criticism. To the dismay of those who held his work in high regard, and to the irritation of his critics, his eccentric and ostentatious public behavior often drew more attention than his artwork. Dali's life and work have been an important influence on pop art, other Surrealists, and contemporary artists. In his face pot quote, Dali defends his creativity: "The difference between Dali and a mad man is that Dali is not mad!"
