Sailor toby jug - Roy Kirkham 1980-1983

Sailor toby jug produced by Roy Kirkham Pottery of Tunstall, England, 1980-1983. A sailor, seaman, mariner, or seafarer is a person who works aboard a watercraft as part of its crew, and may work in any one of a number of different fields that are related to the operation and maintenance of a ship. This sailor has traveled the world and has many tales to tell. "Tinker, Tailor" is a counting game, nursery rhyme and fortune telling song traditionally played in England. It is commonly used by children for "counting out", e.g. for choosing who shall be "It" in a game of tag. The verse is: Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailor, Rich Man, Poor Man, Beggar Man, Thief. This jug was produced from original Wedgwood & Company molds.
