Robert Menzies character jug produced by Bendigo Pottery in Epsom, Australia, circa 1975 in a limited edition of 3,000. Sir Robert Gordon Menzies (1894 - 1978) was an Australian politician who was the 12th and longest-serving prime minister of Australia, holding office for over 18 years from 1939 to 1941 and again from 1949 to 1966. He played a central role in the creation of the Liberal Party of Australia, defining its policies and its broad outreach. His government is remembered for its development of Australia's capital city of Canberra, its expanded post-war immigration scheme, emphasis on higher education, and national security policies. This jug was designed by John Frith and features an interesting handle.
