Raven toby jug - Longpark Pottery circa 1910

Raven toby jug produced by Longpark Pottery of Torquay, England, circa 1910. A raven is any of several larger-bodied passerine bird species in the genus Corvus. There is no consistent distinction between crows and ravens, common names which are assigned to different species chiefly based on their size. The largest raven species are the common raven and the thick-billed raven; these are also the largest passerine species. The raven's wings sweep upward to form the handle of the jug.
