Queen character jug - E. Boria circa 1930

Queen character jug by E. Boria of Rome, Italy, circa 1930. Kings and queens have ruled Britain since the Romans. Queen is the title given to a female monarch in a variety of contexts. In classical European feudalism, the queen is the wife of a ruling king or the ruler of a kingdom after the King's passing. The scarf of the Queen's headdress forms the handle of the jug.
