Quaker Man majolica toby jug wearing a blue jacket produced by Minton circa 1865. The Quaker Man is a member of the Religious Society of Friends, a Christian sect founded by George Fox around 1650. More commonly referred to as the Barrister toby jug today, this jug is listed in the Minton shape book as Quaker Man. The man's long braided hair forms the handle of the pitcher. The Quaker Man is a pair with the Quaker Woman and can be found in a variety of colorways.
