Pirate character jug produced by Elijah Cotton of Hanley, England, in 1976 with its Lord Nelson Ware tradename. A pirate is a buccaneer of piratical adventurers who raided Spanish colonies and ships along the American coast in the second half of the 17th century. After months at sea, this one-toothed pirate is relaxing at a pub along the coast.
