Pig toby jug - Onnaing circa 1905

Pig majolica toby jug produced by Onnaing of Onnaing, France, circa 1905, model number 755. This pig is wearing a laurel wreath as a sign of his intelligence and is seemingly unconcerned about the baked ham hanging from his belt. A popular pitcher the Pig can be found with a variety of advertising on him. A colorway produced for the Marseille France retail shop Garnier & Mouret bears the shop's name impressed on the base.
