Pig toby jug - Macedo circa 1910

Pig majolica toby jug produced by Macedo Pottery of Barcelos, Portugal circa 1910. This wise pig wears a laurel wreath as a symbol of his intelligence. He has escaped the butcher for the moment, hopefully the ham at his side is not a relative. The Macedo Pottery was founded by Joachim Macedo Correia.
