Pig teapot - Ebeling and Reuss circa 1940

Pig teapot produced in Germany for Ebeling and Reuss of Devon, Pennsylvania, circa 1940 using its Erphila tradename. The pig is an omnivorous, domesticated, even-toed, hoofed mammal. The size and weight of pigs largely depends on their breed. Pigs grunt and make snorting sounds. When used as livestock, pigs are farmed primarily for the production of meat. A group of pigs is called a passel, a team, or a sounder. Pigs, especially miniature breeds, are kept as pets. His head lifts off to fill the teapot, his tail curls up to form the handle, and the stick he is holding in his paws forms the spout.
