Ordinary Toby pepper shaker produced by Crown Staffordshire of Fenton, England, circa 1925. The Ordinary Toby is the original toby jug featuring a common man of the time wearing 18th century clothing and a tricorn hat. This Ordinary Toby is seated in a chair holding a full pitcher of ale with both hands. This Ordinary Toby pepper shaker is part of a cruet set along with a Lady Toby salt shaker and Ordinary Toby wearing cape mustard pot. The English registration number on the bottom dates the design to 1922.
