American Toby Jug Museum 

Ordinary Toby jug large size produced by Avon Art Pottery of Longton, England, circa 1950 marked with the firm's Avon Ware tradename. The Ordinary Toby is the original toby jug featuring a common man of the time wearing 18th century clothing and a tricorn hat. This Ordinary Toby is seated in a high back chair, holding a large pitcher of ale on his left knee with his left hand, and raising a glass of ale to his mouth with his right hand.
