Ordinary Toby crested ware jug produced by Hewitt & Leadbeater of Longton, England, circa 1915 using its Willow Art tradename. This Ordinary Toby is wearing the traditional everyday garb of the late 1700s including the long frock coat, buttoned vest, and tricorn hat. He is holding a full mug of ale in his right hand. Crested ware are small, porcelain objects in a variety of shapes and forms that bear a heraldic crest to represent the area in which they were sold as souvenirs. This crested ware Ordinary Toby jug has a crest from Hereford on his left side.
