Monkey toby jug produced by Hachiya Brothers of Japan for A. A. Importing of St. Louis, Missouri, circa 1970. Monkey is a common name that may refer to most mammals of the infraorder Simiiformes, also known as the simians. Traditionally, all animals in the group now known as simians are counted as monkeys except the apes, which constitutes an incomplete paraphyletic grouping. This monkey is wearing a hat and holding his head in his hands. His tail curls up to form the handle of the jug.
