Monkey Dandy toby jug produced by Jacob Petit of Paris, France, circa 1860. This finely dressed monkey is a court dandy at one of the 19th century French baron's courts. Always striving to improve his position at court, this monkey is offering something with an outstretched left hand. A tree branch with the monkey's tail wrapped around it forms the handle of the jug.
