Martha Gunn thimble produced by Tony Wood Studio of Fenton, England, in 1987 for Scotland Direct. Martha Gunn (1727-1815) was a ladies bather at the sea in Brighton who was very experienced and highly requested. She became famous throughout England for bathing the Prince of Wales King George III's son in 1785. The plaque on the rear of the thimble has the artist's initials and year of production.
