Louise Irvine character jug - Peggy Davies Ceramics 1995

Louise Irvine character jug produced by Peggy Davies Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, in a 1995 limited edition of 350 commissioned by The Collector of London. Louise Irvine is an established lecturer and writer with a special interest in nineteenth and twentieth century ceramics. A graduate in Fine Arts from Edinburgh University, she has written numerous books and articles about Royal Doulton wares and, in 1980, initiated the Royal Doulton International Collectors Club, where she edited and wrote for the quarterly magazine and produced many exhibitions. She is regarded as one of the foremost authorities on Royal Doulton wares. The handle of the jug is a rabbit standing on a book and whispering in Louise's ear. This is in recognition of the books she wrote about Bunnykins and Beatrix Potter for Royal Doulton.
