Leprechaun character jug produced by Lego in Japan circa 1960. In Irish folklore, the Leprechaun is a Fairy in the form of a tiny old man, often depicted as a shoemaker. Leprechauns are mischievous and elusive creatures, reputed to possess buried crocks of gold, the location of which they will reveal to anyone who catches him.
