Jolly Roger character jug - Longton New Art Pottery circa 1955

Jolly Roger character jug produced by Longton New Art Pottery of Longton, England, circa 1955 using its Kelsboro Ware tradename. Jolly Roger was a vile pirate who operated in the Caribbean. He was an infamous pirate captain with a bad temper and a thirst for power. Whatever happened beneath the weight of his cruel ambition, Jolly Roger would crush anyone in his path to become absolute ruler of the Caribbean by any means. A length of heavy rope forms the handle of the jug. The small Jolly Roger character jug measures 2 3/4" tall.
