Hearty Good Fellow toby jug - Prattware circa 1785

Hearty Good Fellow toby jug made in Staffordshire in Prattware finish circa 1785. This jug is of a man standing on a rustic mound with a tree trunk at his back and tree branch forming the handle. He commonly holds at jug of ale in his right hand and churchwarden pipe in his left. The Prattware finish is underglaze metallic oxides that have distinctive bright colors of yellows blues and browns typically associated with William Pratt of Fenton.
