Granny prototype lighter designed by Max Henk and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, in 1958. The grandfather clock strikes four and the noise echoes down the paneled hallway. The steady clicking from the parlor ceases as granny lays down her needles and skein of wool and rises creakily from the old rocking chair; it's teatime. The Granny of this jug belongs to an age gone by. She is dressed in her favorite gown of heavy black calico, as today her cherished granddaughters are joining her for tea. The dignified old lady smiles kindly as the children settle on her knee, ready for one of those wise tales that only granny can tell. Today's Grannies are much more modern, but still a great favorite with their grandchildren. This prototype lighter was never put into production, examples are very rare. A bundle of yarn forms the handle of this lighter.
