In 1984 he started a business with his wife, Angela, called 'Gargoyles & Dragons' where he was a successful Architectural Sculptor working in terra cotta, stoneware and bronze helping replacing Melbourne's heritage. In 1998 he established Surrey Sculpture Studio where he led a team of five artists sculpting one off pieces and commission work. In 2009 Graeme focused on his own art work in ceramic sculpture and set up Hawthorn Studio. Over the years he has made commission pieces for clients' private collections in Australia, USA, UK, Japan, Canada, China and France. This self-portrait character jug depicts Foote on the front and the tools of his trade on the rear of the jug.
