Floyd character jug - Hallmark Cards circa 2010

Floyd character jug produced by Hallmark Cards of Kansas City, Missouri, circa 2010. Hallmark artist John Wagner created Maxine in 1986 for the Shoebox Greetings card line. He based the character on his mother, grandmother and maiden aunts who helped raised him. John was attempting to capture the snarky comments he heard from these older women in his life, putting their thoughts and actions to life through Maxine and her dog, Floyd. Maxine, the blue-haired, crotchety older woman of Hallmark greeting card fame, doesn't have much nice to say about much of anything.
