Ferdinand I character jug produced by Sarreguemines of Lorraine, France, circa 1905, model number 4730. Ferdinand I of Bulgaria (1861-1948) was elected Prince Regent of Bulgaria in 1887 and served in the role until 1908 when is proclaimed Bulgaria's independence from the Ottoman Empire and named himself Tsar of Bulgaria. This is a very rare jug.
