Fair Hebe toby jug - England circa 1820

Fair Hebe toby jug produced in a Prattware finish in England circa 1820. The Fair Hebe toby jug depicts a standing Ordinary Toby raising a cup of ale to his mouth with his right hand. A bottle of ale sits between his feet and his trusty hound is leaping up at his side. A tree branch forms the handle of the jug. It is based on the 1598 song, Fair Hebe, when dame Flora meets, composed by Thomas Bateson.
