Elephant toby jug - Saint-Clement circa 1970

Elephant toby jug produced by Saint-Clement of France circa 1970. This well trained African elephant is sitting on his haunches waiting for his master's next command. The French consider the raised elephant's trunk a sign of good luck. The elephant's tail forms the handle of the jug. This version of the elephant was produced at the Luneville factory in the 1970s.
