Electioneering Toby jug - Yorkshire 1803

Electioneering Toby jug made in the Yorkshire region of England in 1803. Called an Electioneering Toby jug because the jug he is holding is promoting a candidate in the upcoming election. Yorkshire tobies have some distinct characteristics that may or may not be present in any specific example. These include a six-sided goblet, white tri-corn hat with scalloped edging, sponged underglaze bright colors around the base, painted dots for eyebrows, and a ship's figurehead handle. Written on the jug he is holding it says: "A Bumper Milton Forever". This is a very rare jug.
