Double XX faience toby jug produced by Desvres circa 1870. The Double XX toby is an Ordinary Toby who is sitting atop a barrel of ale and holding an jug of ale in front of him. His barrel is marked XX indicating the brew is extra strong. This jug is modeled after the stoneware Double XX toby jug produced at Doulton's Lambeth factory. He is marked with the initials HL.
