Double Diamond City Gent teapot designed by Albert Hallam and Jim Hayward and produced by Beswick of Longton, England, between 1958 to 1970. The Double Diamond City Gent is a smart executive distinguished by his traditional bowler hat as he heads for his office in the heart of the City, the financial and business sector of London. Perhaps today he will be making profitable investment decisions for his clients, then strolling a few blocks to the West End to join his wife for dinner and a play before retiring. The jug was produced as a promotional item for the Double Diamond Brewery. The City Gent was a key image in the company's branding and advertising. Hurrying down the street for his next appointment, he holds a bottle of Double Diamond ale in his right hand, forming the spout of the teapot, and his briefcase in his left hand, forming the handle.
