Dorothy character jug - Enesco 1999

Dorothy character jug produced in China by Enesco of Itasca, Illinois, in 1999. Dorothy Gale is a fictional character created by American author L. Frank Baum as the protagonist in many of his Oz novels. She first appears in Baum's classic 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and reappears in most of its sequels. In addition, she is the main character in various adaptations, notably the classic 1939 film adaptation of the novel, The Wizard of Oz. This jug is modeled in the likeness of Judy Garland, the actress who played Dorothy Gale in the 1939 MGM classic The Wizard of Oz, and features Dorothy's blue hair ribbon as its handle. This is one of four character jugs in the Wizard of Oz Series.
