Chefe Silva toby jug produced in Portugal circa 1970. António da Silva (1934-2015), better known as Chefe Silva, was a Portuguese chef and businessman. He was one of the most renowned and famous Chefs of Traditional Portuguese Cuisine, and became known for the magazine "TeleCulinária", of which he was the founder, and also for the numerous television programs in which he participated. Chefe Silva proudly holds the secret recipe for Bacalhau A Ze do Pipo, a dish that he is an expert in preparing. Bacalhau A Ze do Pipo is a classic Portuguese fish casserole recipe from the Porto region of Portugal that is similar to the American dish Shepard's Pie.
