British Bobby face pot - Kevin Francis circa 2001

British Bobby face pot modeled by Andy Moss and produced by Kevin Francis Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, circa 2001. A British Bobby, a slang term for a member of London's Metropolitan Police, is derived from the name of Sir Robert Peel, who established the police force in 1829. Police officers in London are also known as "peelers" for the same reason. The face pot quote of "Ello, ello, ello? What's going on here then?" is a question that the stereotypical London policeman of modest education around 1900 might pose to a small crowd that has gathered for no immediately discernible purpose.
