Black Bill majolica character jug in an extra large size produced in Austria circa 1925. Black Bill is a jack of all trades and master of none. He serves as a deckhand aboard ships on short trips, along the docks loading and unloading cargo, and around town as a handyman and laborer for hire. This is the largest of four known sizes with the large size model 7891 II standing 7 1/2" tall, the medium size model 7891 I standing 6 1/2" tall, and the small size model 7891 standing 5 3/4" tall.
