Big Chief character jug produced by Westminster Pottery of Hanley, England, circa 1950. Typically indigenous peoples of Canada and United States, Native American Indians are members of any of the aboriginal peoples of the Western Hemisphere, although the term often connotes only those groups whose original territories were in present-day Canada and the United States. Big Chief is the chief of his tribe.
The tail of his headdress forms the handle of the jug.
