Bernard character jug produced in a light brown colorway by Sarreguemines of Lorraine, France, circa 1985. Bernard is a re-issue of the pottery's Upward Eyes majolica character jug of the early 1900s. The Bernard, or Upward Eyes, character jug shows a curious man staring upward. In the Sarreguemines factory documentation, Upward Eyes was one of the jugs issued in the Grotesque Series.
