Begging Monkey majolica toby jug produced by Wasmuel of Wasmuel, Belgium, circa 1890. This organ grinder's monkey is dressed in his best outfit with a fancy jacket, green striped scarf, and multi-colored sash. He is doing his best to attract a large crowd and collect tips. His tail curls up to form the handle of the pitcher. The Begging Monkey was designed by Wasmuel's principal artist Thurner.
